It’s one of the most anticipated crime/thrillers in recent time, and now “Man on a Ledge” has arrived in theaters (January 27) just in time for weekend moviegoers.

Starring Elizabeth Banks and Sam Worthington, the Asger Leth film centers on “a police psychologist who works to talk down an ex-con who is threatening to jump from a Manhattan hotel rooftop, the biggest diamond heist ever committed is in motion”

While talking with press about the project, Miss Banks explained, “Really, everything’s in the title. It’s about a man on a ledge, and the people around him who are trying to figure out why he’s on the ledge, and how to get him off the ledge before he falls off and dies.”

Worthington also chimed in, adding, “Good action really comes down to the stakes, what’s at stake, whether it’s rescuing the girl, getting the diamonds or whatever. [The main character] is battling for his life in the ultimate extreme, just on a ledge. He’s on the edge on the ledge. Because the stakes are so high, I think that’s why we can label it a thriller, an action thriller.”

Growing up in the spotlight typically leads to anything but a mild lifestyle, and Miley Cyrus is getting some serious flack for her recent phallic birthday cake photos.

She gathers strength, she has to fight to survive. She’s promised her sister that she would come back, so she replaces her vulnerability with strength.”

She noted that the fire on the chariots came from special effects, rather than actual flames. “Oh, that was fake. I wasn’t actually on fire, thank God. … I think they’ll just add that later, hopefully.”

The 39-year-old French actress was recently asked how she handles rumors, specifically one that claimed she and longtime partner Johnny Depp were separating.

“It depends which rumor. Here, this is one which could hurt my family. After that … they say that we have 52 houses in France, we separate in winter, we get married every summer. Me, I’m in my 12th pregnancy,” she told a French TV panelist (via People). “They are all false.”

A source, however, told the mag that Vanessa and Johnny‘s “relationship is all but officially over.”

The “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” stud looked handsome as he got into character as a 1972 version of Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner.

“Lovelace” is a biopic about 70s porn star Linda Lovelace, starring Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard.

Additionally, Demi Moore was recently replaced, due to personal issues, by Mary Louise Parker, who will now be playing Gloria Steinem.

Ryan Gosling attends the opening ceremony of the Hua Hin International Film Festival on Friday (January 27) at the InterContinental Resort in Hua Hin, Thailand.

The 31-year-old actor hit the red carpet with his Drive director, Nicolas Winding Refn, who arrived with wife Liv Corfixen, and Thai actress Krystal Vee.

“Ryan Gosling didn’t get an Academy nomination? There’s some bullshit right there,” Russell Crowe recently tweeted.

“Albert Brooks you were excellent in Drive. Excellent,” he wrote in another tweet.
